Meet Ellen Finn
Ellen Finn is a producer for Minnesota Now on MPR News.
Ellen started her career at KALW Bay Area Public Media. In Minnesota, she worked as a homelessness case manager in Minneapolis and for KFAI Fresh Air Community Radio before making her way to MPR News in February 2022. The compelling stories Ellen heard as a case manager inspired her to work as a radio journalist.
She was awarded first place from the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association for the Minnesota Now program segment “Choosing death on one’s own terms.”
Ellen holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Puget Sound with minors in music and gender studies. As a West Coast transplant, she has learned to embrace all of Minnesota's seasons by lake swimming in the summers and cross-country skiing in the winters.
