Meet Emily Corwin

Emily Corwin is a senior editor at APM Reports.  

Emily was previously an investigative reporter and editor at Vermont Public. Before that, Emily covered the criminal legal system, the economy and water contamination as a reporter at New Hampshire Public Radio. She got her start answering phones at the Public Radio Exchange (PRX).   

Emily was a 2021 Nieman Fellow at Harvard, where she developed an investigation published by ProPublica exposing how a tax credit meant to help marginalized workers get permanent jobs benefited temp agencies instead.  

Emily has won several national and regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. She received a Philip Meyer Award special citation from Investigative Reporters and Editors in 2022 for her investigation into tax credits for temp agencies. She was also a two-time Livingston Award finalist for her work editing the Vermont Public podcast “JOLTED” about an averted school shooting, and for her work reporting the New Hampshire Public Radio podcast “Supervision” about one man's return home from prison.  

Emily has a bachelor’s degree in cello performance and music composition from California Institute of the Arts. She lives with her wife and dog in Burlington, Vermont.
