Meet Estelle Timar-Wilcox
Estelle Timar-Wilcox is a morning general assignment reporter for MPR News. She reports on a little of everything in and around the Twin Cities, looking for stories that teach people something new about their community.
Estelle joined MPR as an intern in the summer of 2022 and took on a full-time reporter position in 2024. Between her MPR News roles, she worked as a media producer and youth mentor at St. Paul Neighborhood Network and covered local news as a freelancer for several publications. Her work has been featured on NPR.
Estelle graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international studies and human rights from Macalester College in 2022. She’s an avid fan of Minnesota’s plethora of roadside attractions. When not on the job, Estelle loves exploring Minneapolis and its lakes by bike, foot, swim and ice skate — weather permitting.
