
Meet Hannah Yang
Hannah Yang is a senior reporter based in Worthington and Mankato, where she covers southwest Minnesota.
Before MPR News, Hannah covered education and county news for the Austin Daily Herald. She also served as a regional reporter for the Rochester Post Bulletin, covering Dodge, Fillmore and Mower counties.
Hannah’s work has been recognized with several awards, including a regional Edward R. Murrow Award, a National Headliner Award, multiple Page One Awards from the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists, and first place for best use of video in the Better Newspaper Contest from the Minnesota Newspaper Association.
Hannah graduated with a bachelor’s degree in news and information with a minor and specialization in Spanish from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Hannah is a proud second-generation Korean American and grew up in Cleveland. She's a mom of two corgis and married to her best friend.
