Meet Kelly Bleyer
Kelly Bleyer joined MPR News as a newscaster in May 2024 and is honored to join such an esteemed organization. Before moving to Minnesota, she worked at KOMO News radio in Seattle as an anchor/reporter, winning an Edward R Murrow award for their breaking news coverage of the 2020 riots in Seattle. Before that, she worked at KBND News radio in Bend, Oregon as an anchor/reporter/news director. Before that, she worked more than 20 years as a TV News evening anchor in Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa and Colorado.
She grew up in a Detroit suburb in Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan. (Go Blue!) She and her husband have twins who just graduated from college.
