
Meet Peter Cox
Peter Cox is a general assignment reporter for MPR News. He is currently covering politics at the Minnesota Capitol and has worked at MPR News since 2014.
Peter started his career at local newspapers in Minnesota, including The Pilot-Independent in Walker, the Albert Lea Tribune, the West Central Tribune in Willmar and the St. Cloud Times.
He later worked as a general assignment reporter for the New York Post, a sports reporter at the Atlanta-Journal Constitution and a freelance journalist in Johannesburg, South Africa, for 2 ½ years.
Peter has a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield and a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Peter is a native of St. Paul. His favorite Minnesota vacation spot is Leech Lake, favorite Minnesota season is winter, and favorite dog is Copper the beagle.
