
Meet Todd Melby
Todd Melby is an editor at MPR News where he has also worked as a podcast producer and newscaster.
Before joining MPR News, Todd led “Black Gold Boom: How Oil Changed North Dakota,” wrote the book “A Lot Can Happen in the Middle of Nowhere: The Untold Story of the Making of Fargo,” and produced multiple podcasts and audio documentaries, including “Spirit and Body Willing: Sex Over Age 70” for Chicago Public Media.
Todd has received numerous awards and accolades, including two national Edward R. Murrow Awards for radio documentaries produced for Chicago Public Media and an Online News Association award for “Rough Ride,” an interactive documentary produced as part of “Black Gold Boom: How Oil Changed North Dakota.”
Todd studied at three colleges: Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Hamline University and Northwestern University, earning degrees in political science and journalism.
