Elaine Savick
Elaine Savick, a nurse from St. Louis Park, is voting for Keith Ellison in the 5th Congressional District. She is a long-time DFL supporter and she is glad that Ellison adheres to the populist beliefs that she holds dear.
She says with the country and state headed in the wrong direction under Republican leadership, she feels it's especially important to vote DFL this year. Savick feels that Ellison will provide a voice for the less powerful and will be able to get things done as he did in the state Legislature.
As a mother of two grown children, she is concerned about the amount of debt with which her children are graduating from college and that they may not be able to find jobs in their chosen fields.
As a nurse, she has seen how difficult it is for those without health insurance and she is hoping that we will see a single-payer universal system in the near future. Savick lives in St. Louis Park and hers is the house with eight lawn signs lining the driveway.
