(AP) - Supporters of re-establishing a train link between the Twin Cities and Duluth are encouraged by some recent progress.
It's been two decades since a rail line ran between the two. But supporters say times have changed since then, with more incentives for non-car commuting as well as the possibility of picking up riders on their way to Grand Casino Hinckley.
Supporters also have a strong ally in Congressman Jim Oberstar, who is now the chairman of the House Transporation Committee.
But the $120 million proposal also has its skeptics. They say the flourishing support could attract government resources away from other rail projects that are further along.
There are also disputes over where to locate stops along the line.
