Laura Osnes of Eagan is the one Broadway -- and America's television viewers -- wants.

Osnes will play Sandy Dumbrowski, the lead female role in the $10 million revival of "Grease," opening on Broadway this summer. Max Crumm was chosen to play Danny Zuko.

The winners, chosen by audience votes, were announced Sunday during the final episode of the NBC reality series "Grease: You're the One That I Want."

"This is my dream come true," said Osnes, 20.

Osnes, a graduate of Eagan High School, has been involved in theater for much of her life, and played the role of Sandy at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre.

The musical opens Aug. 19 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, with preview performances beginning July 24.

Osnes spoke to MPR's Tom Crann about the experience.
