The Masters is played on Augusta National's elegant and manicured grounds. It's a private club with wealthy and powerful members.

With its ancient oak trees, loblolly pines and those lovely azaeleas, Augusta National is the backdrop for a new book by Minnesota author Rick Shefchik, called "Amen Corner."

It's Shefchik's debut novel, after spending 26 years at the St. Paul Pioneer Press as a reporter and columnist.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked to Shefchik about "Amen Corner," which refers to the most dramatic part of the course.
