In southeastern Minn., the water kept on rising

Hundreds of people have had to leave their flooded homes, and some are now in Red Cross shelters.  Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer talked with Joe Buchmann, the night manager at a Red Cross shelter at St. Mary's University in Winona.

It's been a tough night for people in southeastern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin.  Torrential rain, as much as 17 inches, fell over the weekend and washed out roads and homes, killing at least six people.  Hundreds of people have  had to leave their flooded homes and they are in shelters, one of which is a Red Cross shelter at St. Mary's University in Winona.  We just talked with Joe Buchmann, the shelters night manager.
