Minnesota Rep.Betty McCollum is in the Middle East this week. McCollum spoke Thursday with leaders in Jordan, after meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad Wednesday.
McCollum is making the solo trip to the region to talk about the conditions that nearly 2 million Iraqi refugees face there. More than a million Iraqis have fled to Syria to escape violence at home, and another 750,000 have crossed the border into to Jordan. MPR's Tom Crann spoke to McCollum on a stop in Amman, Jordan.
