U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum, DFL-St. Paul, is endorsing Barack Obama for president.

McCollum, who represents St. Paul and surrounding communities, calls Obama the best candidate for the job. She said Obama has long opposed the war in Iraq and can unite a divided nation.

"As you all know, every candidate in this race is experienced and experience in of itself is not enough. With that experience has to come good judgment, sound choices. I believe that Barack Obama will use his experience to use good choices and sound judgment," says McCollum.

U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison and Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak are also backing Obama.

Former Vice President Walter Mondale, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and Minn. House Speaker Margaret Kelliher are backing New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
