Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn., has a new president.

Brother William Mann will be the University's 13th president. Vice President for Communications Bob Conover says Brother Mann was selected through a confidential search process conducted by a national search firm.

Brother Mann spent the last 7 years in Rome as essentially the second in command of the Christian Brothers. Conover explains there are about 5,300 Christian Brothers around the world who run schools around the world.

Last year the University's then-president Brother Craig Franz stepped down after he admitted to sexual misconduct with a student. The incident happened at his previous position in California.

Conover says the incident hasn't affected donations or campus morale.

Brother Mann will begin his term in June of 2008.
