In the first known case in Minnesota, a woman has become pregnant from a human donor egg that was frozen and thawed before it was fertilized and implanted.
Doctors used in vitro fertilization to achieve the pregnancy for the 48-year-old woman, who is nine weeks pregnant.
Her pregnancy means egg freezing is now available in Minnesota, though it's a controversial technology that many say isn't ready for wide-spread use.
