Pawlenty told voters in Dover, New Hampshire Saturday afternoon that the time is right for McCain to be president.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the times call out for leaders. No matter what people try to strategize, no matter what they try to plan, no matter what they try to do, the fact of the matter is that history calls forward leaders," said Pawlenty. "I believe that the times are calling out John McCain to be president of this country, and we need him now more than ever."

Recent poll numbers show McCain surging in New Hampshire, which holds its primary on Jan. 8, 2008.
