Gov. Tim Pawlenty is in Florida this weekend to campaign on behalf of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

A spokesman for Pawlenty says the governor will appear at an afternoon event with McCain. He will then campaign on his own for McCain through Sunday.

Florida's Republican primary is Tuesday, Jan. 29, and McCain is hoping he can score a victory there as he did in South Carolina and New Hampshire.

Pawlenty, who co-chairing McCain's presidential committee, has been campaigning in several states on McCain's behalf. He also made trips to Iowa, New Hampshire and Michigan for the Arizona Republican.

Pawlenty is scheduled to return to Minnesota on Sunday night.
