A man arrested for suspicion of drunken driving Wednesday morning died after being taken to a hospital.
Police say the man showed signs of a medical emergency while sitting in a squad car after he was stopped at 23rd and Grand Avenues N.E. Police say officers administered first aid and that when paramedics arrived they removed a plastic bag of suspected crack cocaine from the man's airway.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man as 38-year-old Marcus James Burrell, whose address wasn't immediately available.
He was pronounced dead at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
