Gov. Tim Pawlenty is expected to lay out his plan this week for balancing the state budget. His proposal comes on the heels of bad news; a forecast last week said the state's projected deficit has increased to almost a billion dollars.

Balancing the budget is just one of several jobs facing lawmakers in the Minnesota Legislature this session.
