Winter's back, and parts of Minnesota are feeling its bite.

Snow and high winds prompted the closure of state offices in Lake and St. Louis counties today.

The National Weather Service reported zero visibility and winds up to 55 miles per hour in northern Minnesota, with a blizzard warning in effect until Saturday morning.

A blanket of heavy, wet snow in northern and central Minnesota has prompted some 150 communities to close or delay classes.

The Minnesota State Patrol says state highways in the Detroit Lakes area are snow packed and slippery. Conditions may worsen as more snow is expected near Wadena, Todd and parts of Otter Tail Counties.
