The governor and key legislators are still sorting out differences in a health care reform bill, after a meeting this morning.
The meeting to discuss a health care bill came to no solid resolutions.
The lead Senate negotiator Sen. Linda Berglin, DFL-Minneapolis, said instead the meeting identified issues that need further work.
Berglin said some of the main differences between the Senate and House versions of the bill involve giving doctors incentives for results, the role of state agencies in that reform, and the biggest source of contention how to spend a surplus in the state's health care access fund.
DFL lawmakers want to use the surplus to expand state health care programs, while Gov. Tim Pawlenty has proposed using that money in his budget fix. Pawlenty said he wants legislators to figure out how to pay for existing programs before adding new ones that the state cannot afford.
