Protesters meet wagon train
A wagon train making its way through the Twin Cities this weekend was met by a couple dozen protesters, including some Native Americans who blocked the road and wouldn't let it pass. The train is part of Minnesota 150th anniversary celebration.
Dozens of police vehicles responded to the protesters. About a half dozen protesters who laid down in the road were arrested. Eventually the police pushed back the protesters so the wagon train could pass.
The wagon train was on its way to historic Ft. Snelling today.
With band concerts, fireworks and a host of other events, the wagon train is commemorating Minnesota's statehood 150 years ago.
About 20 wagons started the trip in Cannon Falls earlier this week, and they're expected to finish a hundred mile trip to the Capitol in St. Paul.
They'll be traveling tomorrow through neighborhoods in South Minneapolis and through Highland Park and down Summit Avenue in St. Paul.
