Severe weather moves through the area
Residents of the western Twin Cities will be picking up the pieces after storms packing hail swept through the area.
The National Weather Service received reports of golfball-sized hail from the Big Lake-Rogers area northwest of the Twin Cities to the suburb of Edina.
Golfball-sized hail also was reported in Eagan in the southern metro.
Funnel clouds were reported in the Big Lake-Rogers area, but the weather service has not received any reports of structural damage.
Meteorologist Todd Krause said there was not enough humidity to generate tornadoes like the one that struck Hugo last Sunday.
Krause said the weather will remain unsettled through the week, with a chance of more storms on Monday as well as Thursday and Friday.
