Voices of Minnesota: Tom Tipton and Laura MacKenzie
Gospel vocalist Tom Tipton celebrates his 75th birthday June 12, 2008, and 50 years in music including performances here at his home church, Lord of Life Lutheran in Plymouth, a Twin Cities suburb. Tipton, a Washington, D.C. native started singing at age 5 under the direction of his mother, a music teacher and choir director. He moved to Minnesota 40 years ago to work with Senator Hubert Humphrey and then started his own business while continuing his performing.
