Xcel Energy says about 9,800 people in the Twin Cities area are still without power Sunday after overnight storms.

The number continues to shrink as utility workers get the power back on. But an Xcel official says some people in the western metro area might not get their power back until late Monday night.

Damage from the storms is mostly limited to downed trees and power lines. There is also some damage to a couple of airplanes at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

The two airplanes were parked at the gates when high winds spun them around and pushed them into ramps that passengers use for boarding. Both the planes and the ramps were empty.

The planes are regional aircraft used by Mesaba Airlines. Their noses are damaged.
