The Minnesota Supreme Court has rejected the latest in a string of appeals from a man convicted in the 1998 kidnapping, torture and murder of a 23-year-old Little Canada man.
Moises Vidal Robledo-Kinney is serving life in prison without possibility of parole in Joshua Christenson's death. The ruling says he stabbed and sodomized Christenson with a mop handle at a St. Paul party.
Kinney claims that the lawyers who handled his trial and appeal were ineffective and gave him bad advice that made him decide not to testify at his trial.
But the ruling says Kinney's complaints have already been addressed, or should have been raised in earlier appeals.
The court also says Kinney's testimony probably wouldn't have changed the guilty verdict in a trial that included eyewitness testimony and other evidence.
