Does the Constitution still matter?

Less than a month from now, Republicans will fill St. Paul for the Republican National Convention. And this election season, they'll be working to figure out how to rebuild their party's reputation.

The Republican name has been in a slump with low approval ratings for President Bush, several Republicans in Congress trying to take their seats they lost in the 2006 midterm elections. More recently, Republican Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska has been charged with lying on Senate disclosure forms.

Former U.S. Rep. Mickey Edwards says there's a bigger problem than party politics. Edwards argues the real problem is that politicians need to heed the Constitution.

Edwards, a Republican, represented Oklahoma's 5th Congressional district for 16 years. He spoke at the Aspen Ideas Festival recently, and title of his speech was "Does The Constitution Still Matter?"
