The election of Barack Obama as America's first African-American president was a historic occasion.

One of the more interesting places to experience that history was Northrup Auditorium on the campus of the University of Minnesota, where Bob Dylan was performing.

Dylan began playing shortly after the polls closed in Minnesota. It was Dylan's first show ever on the campus where he was once a student.

One of the people in the audience was Mark Seeley, a professor at the University of Minnesota and a longtime Dylan fan. Seeley spoke with Morning Edition's Cathy Wurzer.
