Anonymous donor gives $1 million to fire victims
Residents left homeless by an apartment fire in Burnsville are getting checks for $17,000 per unit thanks to the holiday spirit of an anonymous donor.
The Burncliff Apartment building was destroyed by a fire on Monday night, leaving almost 200 residents displaced. There's been an outpouring of generosity since then.
In addition to the $1 million check from the anonymous donor, the chairman of the company that owns the apartments has set up a fund for the victims that's already received $100,000 in donations.
Information on how to donate to the victims can be found on the Web site of the American Red Cross.
