Len Downie, former executive editor of The Washington Post, discusses the tension between journalism and the government.

Downie is one of the leaders of the news world, heading up the Post for nearly 20 years. Now, he turns to fiction drawn from that experience. He is the author of a new novel, "The Rules of the Game."

Downie spoke last week at the Commonwealth Club of California.
