New Ulm plant, with 80 jobs, relocating

(AP) - The owners of a New Ulm plant that makes electrical servo motors say they will move most of the plant's operations out of Minnesota, affecting about 80 employees.

Ametek Inc. says it will move the plant's operations to Pennsylvania and North Carolina in phases through September.

Spokesman Bill Burke says a handful of the plant's engineers will remain at a smaller, nearby site in New Ulm.

He said severance packages would be offered to all of the workers at the New Ulm plant, and that they would have the option of moving to the Ametek plants where the work is being relocated.
