Obama announces $15B to states for Medicaid plans
President Barack Obama has announced the release of $15 billion in Medicaid money to states from the $787 billion economic stimulus package.
The recession has left many states struggling to meet the costs of Medicaid, which they underwrite jointly with the federal government. At a White House meeting this morning, Obama said his administration this week would begin distributing $15 billion from the economic stimulus program.
