Coleman attorney eyes appeal

Republican Norm Coleman's attorney told a Twin Cities radio station this week that Coleman will probably end up with fewer votes than Al Franken when the three-judge panel rules in Coleman's election contest.
Joe Friedberg told KFAN radio that Coleman's legal team has been trying the case with an appeal in mind:
"Our whole argument was that it was a constitutional argument. It's an argument that's really suited for the Minnesota Supreme Court, but not for the trial court. So we'll see whether we were right or not," Friedberg said.
During closing arguments, Friedberg told the panel that it changed the rules of the election in mid-February when it ruled some types of ballots illegal that the State Canvassing Board had already counted.
The three-judge panel has been considering the case for a week and has not yet issued a ruling.
