Key lawmakers sell their education funding proposals
Funding for K-12 education makes up 40 percent of the state budget. Gov. Pawlenty and House and Senate lawmakers are considering different education funding proposals in the face of a $4.6 billion deficit.
The DFL Senate leadership proposes across-the-board cuts, including education. The governor proposes some increases in education funding. The House DFL leadership proposes no cuts to education.
