Key lawmakers sell their education funding proposals
The original section of Annandale Middle School was build in the early 1920s. Since then, five additions have been built to accomodate growing enrollments.

Funding for K-12 education makes up 40 percent of the state budget. Gov. Pawlenty and House and Senate lawmakers are considering different education funding proposals in the face of a $4.6 billion deficit.
The DFL Senate leadership proposes across-the-board cuts, including education. The governor proposes some increases in education funding. The House DFL leadership proposes no cuts to education.
