2 dead in Maple Grove shooting
(AP) - Police in Maple Grove say a man fatally shot a woman in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant, then died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound a short time later.
The shooting occurred about 2 p.m. Sunday. Police found the victim in the parking lot.
Witnesses described the suspect's vehicle, and police found it a short time later on the side of Interstate 694 not far away. The suspect, a man in his 20s, was dead inside.
The victim, described as a woman in her 20s, has not been identified. Police said it's the first homicide in the Minneapolis suburb in eight years.
It's the second shooting in a Twin Cities fast food restaurant's parking lot in about 12 hours time.
Early Sunday, a 24-year-old man was shot and killed after an argument in the parking lot of a White Castle in Hopkins. Police there are looking for two suspects.
