Friends of Dan Zamlen plan to return home to Minnesota's Iron Range this weekend to say goodbye to the Eveleth native whose body was pulled from the Mississippi River.

Zamlen was a freshman at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. He disappeared April 5 after leaving a house party in the pre-dawn hours. Police recovered his body Friday, nearly a month after he disappeared.

Zamlen's funeral is tentatively set for Saturday in Eveleth.

Students at Virginia High School spent part of Monday writing letters of support and sympathy to Zamlen's family. His sister, Andrea, is a junior at the school.

Results of an autopsy have not been released.
