The Mexican War, a war between the United States and Mexico, took place in the wake of the 1845 U.S. annexation of Texas. Martin Dugard, author of "The Training Ground: Grant, Lee, Sherman and Davis in the Mexican War 1846-1848," recounts the story of that war and its impact on future American wars.
