The Minnesota Department of Corrections is searching for a Level 3 sex offender who became a fugitive Monday when he left a halfway house.
Officials say 67-year-old Willie A. Johnson is on intensive supervised release. He has 1990 convictions of kidnapping and second-degree assault in Dakota County, and a 1994 conviction of fourth-degree assault in Washington County. He also has been convicted of criminal sexual conduct, assault, and weapons charges.
His victims were adult females, and he did not know them. He used a weapon and an accomplice in previous incidents.
He was released from the Stillwater prison on April 16.
Johnson is black and described as 5 feet 8, 170 pounds with thinning gray hair, and brown eyes. He also goes by Andrew Johnson.
