Longtime GOP activist Tony Sutton takes over Wednesday as the chairman of Minnesota Republicans.
Sutton won an internal election to lead the party in June, succeeding Ron Carey.
Sutton is a former state auditor who runs a chain of Mexican restaurants. He has served as the GOP's secretary-treasurer and executive director.
He has promised to focus on strengthening the party organization and improving results for Republicans in the 2010 elections. He's shaking up the party's staff and bringing in a new executive director.
