Charges in assault of mentally disabled woman

A Winona van driver transporting a mentally disabled woman is charged with sexually assaulting the passenger.

Sixty-six-year-old David Michael Taylor of Minnesota City was a driver for Winona Occupational Rehabilitation Company. A criminal complaint says he drove to East Lake Winona last February and assaulted the woman in the company van.

Police say Taylor admitted to having sexual contact with the woman, but said it was consensual. The complaint does not include the woman's age, but says she has the mental capacity of a 13-year-old.

Taylor is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
