Missing man's car found in Cass County
Cass County authorities have located the vehicle owned and driven by an 82-year-old Staples man who has been missing since at least Saturday.
Peter Achermann's car was found abandoned in a rural area northeast of Staples. Police conducted an extensive search in the area for the missing man.
Teams from Central Lakes Search and Rescue, Lakes Area divers, sheriff's posse members from Cass and Wadena counties and aircraft from the Minnesota State Patrol joined the search, but they didn't find Achermann.
Authorities describe Achermann as a white man with a grey beard. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and uses a cane.
Anyone who might have information about his whereabouts, or believe they might have seen him, are asked to call the Cass County Sheriff's office at 800-450-2677.
