State Sen. Tarryl Clark has filed paperwork allowing her to raise money and seek the Democratic nomination next year for the U.S. House seat held by Republican Michele Bachmann.
Clark, a St. Cloud resident who is assistant Senate majority leader, filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission last week, the St. Cloud Times reports.
Clark did not return phone calls seeking comment.
Two other candidates already have announced their intent to seek DFL Party endorsement in the congressional race - former Independence Party candidate for lieutenant governor Maureen Reed and 2008 DFL candidate Elwyn Tinklenberg.
The 6th District covers all or most of Anoka, Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, Washington and Wright counties.
