State flags lowered for fallen Minnesota soldier
Gov. Tim Pawlenty is ordering state and U.S. flags to fly at half-staff to honor the memory of Minnesota National Guard Spc. Carlos Wilcox IV.
The order covers flags flying at the state Capitol complex from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday.
Wilcox was killed by indirect fire July 16 with two other Minnesota soldiers in southern Iraq. The Cottage Grove man was 27. Pawlenty's order says he will be buried Tuesday with full military honors in New Albany National Cemetery in Indiana.
Pawlenty earlier had ordered flags lowered for the other two soldiers.
They were 22-year-old Spc. Daniel Drevnick of Woodbury and 20-year-old Spc. James Wertish of rural Olivia.
