Teen, 14, sexually assaulted on Minn. bike trail

Authorities are holding a 21-year-old man after a 14-year-old girl reported she was sexually assaulted on a bike trail near Melrose.

The girl says she was riding her bike on the Lake Wobegon Trail on Tuesday when another bicyclist forced her bike into the ditch, then sexually assaulted her after a struggle.

The suspect left when another bicyclist came by. The girl used another cyclist's cell phone to call 911, and a Stearns County sheriff's deputy found the suspect riding his bicycle and tried to arrest him.

Authorities say the suspect broke away and ran into a cornfield. He was arrested when he left the cornfield.
