The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is holding a workshop to teach employers how to accommodate the needs of Muslim employees.

The "Positive Interactions" workshop is being held Tuesday morning at Hamline University. It aims to give managers a basic knowledge of Islam, as well as how to accommodate religious practices that are allowed under state and federal law.

Last month, Wal-Mart reinstated a Muslim employee in St. Paul who had been fired for praying during a break. Other major employers have at times struggled to accommodate religious requirements of Muslim workers, including Target and the Metropolitan Airports Commission.
