A Nassau, Minn., man has been sentenced to 150 years in the South Dakota state penitentiary after being found guilty of raping a minor.
Matthew Borchert, formerly of Watertown, S.D., was sentenced in Codington County to a pair of 75-year prison terms for two counts of first-degree rape. The terms will be served consecutively.
The 30-year-old Borchert was accused of raping a girl who was 7 and 8 years old, at his Watertown home over several months in 2007. He was convicted in June.
Borchert maintains his innocence. ---
