50-year-old bones found at Minnesota home

Marshall County authorities say construction workers have unearthed human bones that may have been buried for 50 years or more.

The bones were found Tuesday at a home in Warren, where workers were installing underground tubing. The bones were sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension laboratory in Bemidji for analysis.

Sheriff John Novacek says archaeologists might know the ethnic origin of the bones by Friday. If they're part of a native American skeleton, all work on the site will be halted until several Indian tribes can be contacted.

Two women have disappeared in the area in the last 10 years. But the apparent age of the bones suggests these aren't the remains of either woman.

Novacek says he's not aware of any unsolved crimes dating back 50 years.
