Bemidji State gets $250,000 to help veterans stay in school
A Minnesota college is getting $250,000 to help military veterans stay in school and finish their degrees.
The U.S. Department of Education is giving seven colleges across the country grant money to boost enrollment of veterans and make sure they have the skills to complete their degrees.
In Minnesota, Bemidji State University will receive a grant to provide veterans with academic and personal counseling, and mentoring and tutoring.
The grant money will also be used to develop refresher courses for GIs who delayed their college career to serve in the military.
