New Fargo Wal-Mart to add 300 jobs

Wal-Mart says it will hire about 300 workers for its new store opening this fall in Fargo.

The company has opened a temporary hiring center in the city. It started accepting applications Monday. Store manager John Pies says interviews are to start Thursday morning.

Pies says Wal-Mart is pleased with the applicants so far. He says they include Wal-Mart employees who work at the existing Fargo store and one in Dilworth, Minn., who want to work closer to their homes or move into leadership positions.

North Dakota Job Service Area Manager Marty Aas says the new jobs will help people who have lost jobs at other businesses because of the recession.
